MATTRESS & BOX by type

Innerspring
Mattresses that use steel coils under layers of upholstery to provide comfort and support. There are four basic types of springs or “coils” found in mattresses today:
Bonnell coils were first adapted from buggy seat springs back in the 19th century and are still found in some mattresses.
Pocketed coils are springs individually wrapped and work independently from each other. If your partner’s tossing and turning is an issue to you, these are beds you should definitely look. These coils works independently from each other, so, it’s very difficult for motion to transfer across the surface of the bed. This results in a very private sleep space.
Offset coils are typically very sturdy. They allow for a “hinging action” which helps the bed conform to your body shape and provide excellent lower back support.

Memory Foam
This pressure-relieving substance was originally designed by NASA and provides gentle support for your entire body. It’s great for side sleepers and wonderful for anyone with chronic neck or back pain. Also known by other names such as visco foam and body pillow foam.

Latex
Latex beds have been very popular in Europe and are gaining in popularity in North America. Latex beds, in general, contain a layer of latex which comes from the rubber tree. There are different types and qualities of latex, so you should always ask for more details. Typically, latex is naturally anti-mircrobial and anti-bacterial, which could be a big advantage for allergy and asthma sufferers.

Adjustable
These beds are perfect for people who are looking for an alternative to a flat sleeping surface. They are also an excellent choice for busy people who multi-task and work on their computers, read, or watch TV when they are in bed. Typically, they allow the sleeper to raise or lower their head or feet to varied positions for personal comfort, or as required for specific health issues.

Pillow Top
This style of mattress provides extra cushion or padding which is sewn on top of the mattress between you and the firm spring structure. This helps minimize pressure points like shoulders, hips and knees - especially for side sleepers. Less pressure points results in better circulation and less tossing and turning in your sleep.

Euro Top
This style of mattress provides extra cushion or padding at the top layer of the mattress. This helps minimize pressure points like shoulders, hips and knees - especially for side sleepers. Less pressure points results in better circulation and less tossing and turning in your sleep.

Plush (feel)
A softer feel on top of the firm springs that allows for more comfort to the sleeper. It comes in varying degrees of plushness to suit different comfort preferences.

Firm (feel)
Beds can be built for the comfort level to be “firm”. This is done by using firmer foams and materials. Many people confuse a firm feeling bed (from the foams, etc) with a firm spring support. It is very popular to get a firm supportive innerspring with softer comfort layers. Comfort (plush or firm) is a personal choice.
