Question: We need a mattress for our murphy bed - depth maximum 10" prefer it isn't too hot and not too soft.
Answer:
Hi there. Thanks for your question. There are quite a few models we sell that are 10" or less, and not too soft. A few quick recommendations could be the Sydney, Blossom or Elation. The best thing to do is to drop into your nearest Sleep Country and have a look at the models we carry, as you can try them all out in the store and see what you like.

Question: I bought a king sealy mattress set - pillow top. It is extremely hot at night and seems to make valleys where we sleep. Is there a reason why?
Answer:
Hi there.  Thanks for your question.  Depending on what type of foam and upholstery is used in your Sealy mattress, some can cause you to sleep slightly warmer, especially if there is a considerable amount of foam in the top.  There are two very easy ways to make your mattress cooler:  using bamboo sheets or a Coolmax mattress protector, both of which we sell.  As far as the valleys you're experiencing, a little bit is normal with most beds, but a lot is not normal.  If you measure a dip of more than 1.5", please let us know and we'll get a warranty inspector to contact you.

Question: I get a lot of migraine headaches and I think my current sleeping situation may have something to do with it. I have an older mattress with a 3" memory foam topper. I sometimes feel like it might be be too soft and causing my headaches. Is there a certain type for mattress you would recommend for someone suffering from migraines?
Answer:
Hello there. Thanks for your question. A mattress can sometimes be a major source of allergens for some people. On average, a mattress gains a pound per person per year due to dust mites. Also, some of the lesser quality memory foams can give off odours that sometimes cause headaches. Look for a mattress that is CertiPur certified, or that contains latex foam (more natural), better quality gel-memory foam, or even a more basic convoluted foam. Be sure to purchase a breathable dust mite barrier for your new mattress, which wil help with any allergies and headaches.

Question: Hi! I want something comfortable, for someone with an easily sore back. But I'm also on a tight budget. I'm looking for a double or a queen. Thank you!
Answer:
Hi. Thanks for your question. The most important criteria for you is selecting a mattress that has a firm core (coil or foam). This doesn't mean that the bed has to feel like a rock. Some of our most popular models are those that contain a firm core (to keep your back straight) but also one with a medium amount of cushion on top to help make it more comfortable.

Question: I always wake up because of neck pain and headache, and sometimes it gets too hot towards the morning hours. Does it have to do with the mattress , and if so which one is more suitable?
Answer:
Hello there. Thanks for your question. It could definitely have something to do with your mattress, especially if it's older than 7 or 8 years. I can tell you the correct pillow can make a HUGE difference with your neck pain and headaches. We have almost 40 different pillows in our stores, and we take great care in custome-fitting you to the correct pillow. Also, with the heat issue you mentioned, bamboo sheets (especially if they're 100% bamboo like the ones we sell) do a great job in keeping you cooler. Feel free to stop by your closest Sleep Country and ask about the correct pillow and our bamboo sheets, and they will most certainly help. If you bed is getting older, I would also look at replacing that at the same time.
